I ordered from Maria’s Pizza on July 19, 2026 for my son’s birthday party. Our order included three extra large pizzas (two plain and one pepperoni) and a large calzone with extra sweet peppers. First, I have to say the prices are fantastic. When I placed my order over the phone, the employee went over the prices with me, and everything sounded exactly as I expected. When I arrived to pick up my order, though, I thought I heard her say the total was around $180. I was completely confused because it didn’t match the prices she had quoted me over the phone. I even mentioned that it didn’t sound right, but I had been rushing around all day preparing for the party and didn’t have time to stop and figure out where the misunderstanding was. Since I had placed such a large order, I wasn’t about to leave them with it, so I paid and headed home. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I realized I had simply misheard the total. The receipt matched exactly what I had originally been quoted over the phone, and the prices were actually excellent. The calzone was absolutely amazing. It was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. As for the pizza, the flavor was really good. The crust was cooked well, and overall the taste was there. My only disappointment was the amount of sauce and cheese. There was much more bread than sauce or cheese, which made the pizza feel very dry. I only ate one slice because it just wasn’t what I was expecting. The kids had no complaints and enjoyed it, so it definitely wasn’t a problem for everyone. If I had known that’s how the pizzas were made, I would have ordered extra sauce and extra cheese from the start. I just wish the regular pizzas came with a little more of both because, in my opinion, customers shouldn’t have to pay extra just to get what feels like a balanced amount. With a more generous amount of sauce and cheese, I honestly think the pizza would have been outstanding because the flavor itself was really good. Overall, I would absolutely order from Maria’s Pizza again. Their prices are excellent, the service was friendly, and the calzone was incredible. My only suggestion would be to be a little more generous with the sauce and cheese on the pizzas. If they made that one change, they would easily earn five stars from me.

Maria’s was the 1st pizza we had upon arriving in Reading over 15 years ago…..and it’s still the best pizza ever!!!! I see people complaining about this or that, and people may think it’s a whole in the wall, but it’s a very community driven place that Reading appreciates. The large cheese pizza we ordered today was just as delicious as it was 15 years ago. Sure there have been issues along the way, but they’ve been addressed & fixed. Give them a chance……pizza is awesome!!!

Chicken parm was great. Lightly breaded, tender chicken. Shrimp scampi had barely any shrimp. And the lack of sauce exposed the overcooked, bland pasta. The Italian sub was severely lacking in meat. Honestly I think Maria's Special Salad had more. Really uneven menu and food quality. Prob won't be back.

First time was excellent, however second time not so much, putting a couple pieces of pepperoni on an old slice of cheese pizza and barely heating it up is not ok. Food was old, cold and poorly prepared. Service was just as cold as the food this time. And I don't expect to have someone trying to sell me shoes/pants/clothes while I'm trying to get a slice of pizza, I won't be back

Ok first of all whoever the young girl is that was taking orders tonight need to be moved to the back ASAP! Her attitude the whole time, my sister and I were ordering, just disgusting. Now the food is always bomb but tonight they did me dirty on the cheese fries and mozzarella sticks (pics are provided). Pizza always slaps but everything else was absolutely pathetic 🤷🏾♀️.

Online prices do not match up with in store prices. When I inquired about the difference I was told that was a morning shift issue. Not a huge deal as it was only a difference of a dollar, but the attitude the gentleman gave when asked about it is the reason I posted. On top of that they need to keep the marijuana smoke out the shop especially if kids will be entering.
